The Sunday L.A. Times had an article on Venezuela which I can't find a link for. The highlights were:

38% inflation rate, mounting speculation that they will devalue, 6 billion less in oil revenue that expected with only 3.8 billion cut from spending programs.

Ends by saying "If not a budget cut, then Venezuela should ask for international loans, impose major currency reform such as a sudden devaluation, or implement exchange-rate controls, Vivancos said."
