Thats not correct. The reason for the current plunge in the oil sector is the significant drop in demand for oil in SEA. Wait until July 24th and see if OPEC does anything to jawbone the production of oil and you may see a false demand to capacity ratio again. It is not the same with chips. You always have to have the money and technology advantage to make money in this commodity business.

My guess is that just like INTC is the leader of CPU technology, MU will emerge as the leader of DRAM products. Remember, although there are many who can fabricate DRAM out there, very very few can still make money, of those only a few can produce the latest PC100 technology let alone profitably. Of those, MU may be one of the select few that will produce in large quantity the Rambus and DLDRAM and what ever else is being developed.

It is not quite the same as the same ol' black gold being pumped from the deserts, oceans or some texans back yard.<g>
