RE: I got carried away with buying the small cap gorilla candidates when I first got the book and lost my ass on Vantive and Rambus.

I had a similar experience with DSTM, and a couple of others in the emerging facilities management tornado. I am back to a more conservative approach. Perhaps I (we) are short-sighted for not playing the game the way Moore prescribes. At least he encouraged me to buy and hold SAP.

From the "Gorilla Game", I took small positions in VNTV, MANU and ITWO. Only ITWO has held up. So far. Moore says that much money can be made holding these companies long term, though he emphasizes early entry. I have found that for me, I'd rather wait until it is a full blown gorilla. The MSFT I bought in Jan '95 is up nearly 8 fold after today! Over time, hoping SAPHY can do something like that!
