AMDs yields are not "poor", they are quite "good". In my estimation they have the capacity to make more chips than there is demand for.
More important is getting the 350MHz K6-2 to market. Don't be surprised if you see Compaq, IBM or maybe HP announce machines with 350s within the next few weeks.
Interestingly my sources tell me that Intels chip prices have been going up due to a software program changeover. This is very strange in lieu of the price cuts supposedly coming on the 26th.

Re -- The large "R&D" expense AMD has on it's books probably represents a substantial volume of useless wafers.

Yeah but 692 million worth? Jeez, these guys are really consuming cash.

Oh well we may have to do the AMD R.I.P sooner.
