"The experiences of the Indians shows us that the 2nd Amendment is redundant."

You' may be correc, butt! I also liked your suggestion that we focus our "wasted" energy from the 2nd to strengthening the 1st.

The question is, how will we hold on to the 1st without having the second to back it up?

I think the founding fathers put them in that order for a purpose. After our cornerstone --God, freedom of speech is an important foundation for our liberties. Then they added the 2nd so we could defend the first against a dictatorial gov. As Washington passess more and more laws threatening the 2nd, we can be assured that their real goal is the death of the 1st. Amend. So long as the people are armed the Feds. are a little scared to move too quickly to destroy the first.

Your scheme of abandoning the "dead" second and focusing on the first appears to have no teeth.
