Yes, but this news today confirms "impressions:" thus the stock movement. How long would review have taken if it weren't "priority?" Now that we know that Ligand will get an answer sooner, and it's not speculation, then the stock should move some due to greater anticipation for turning a profit next year.

I don't think that the priority review was much of a surprise to those who understand LGND and/or the FDA. However, such an understanding seems to be lacking in some of the posts that appear on the LGND threads here and elsewhere (and of course I have my own interpretation on the agenda of such poster(s)).

Much of the interpretation of the info is rather obvious as is the objectives of some of the posters.
