DLJ..had a spectacular earnings report, but down on profit taking. A perfect example of 'anticipatory upswing'.. This was on a very strong uptrend since July 7. For my personal trading, I like to get it a full week or so before the report. (i.e. airlines looking good today were in buy territory even though they don't report until 22-24) Of course some like RMBS would not give a buy signal until the day the report comes out, that is easily tracked by putting 'alerts' into your database. I was not alerted on RMBS until yesterday as it never came into buy range. A very few stocks on the list will NEVER become viable trades. That is why I like to send out the newsletter in advance. DLJ, AVEI, HBOC were all doing great on expectations. I've gotten a few e-mail asking if these should be held through earnings. It's not that simple. Most of you know how to follow the 'earnings play' watch lists but for the few that still have problems just look at the marketgems.com for some guidelines. If you follow them with a 7-10 day window you would be able to have a ver y profitable 'swing-trade' with any of these fine stocks. When they become overbought and profit taking sets in, you would have to wait for the pullback to initiate a new position.
