Marc, I agree with you that we are probably forming a bottom. I'm especially encouraged by the signs capitulation on this board. (I hope no one takes my comment in the wrong way. I am losing in this sector just like all the other longs posting on this board.) I frequently find that capitulation on stock boards is a helpful factor in calling a bottom. (Before the advent of message boards, I would sometimes use my own feelings of capitulation in the same way.)

I don't think that this is yet a safe time to buy. But I also don't think this is a good time to sell either. It's simply too late in the cycle, imho, to do anything other than sit back and hope.

marc, if you have already read my previous post then you will note that i saw mixed results today. I think VRC didn't have a bounce but looking at the hourly "sticks" the selloff came today in the first hour then VRC consolidated all day on HEAVY volume.http://www.iqc.com/chart/default.asp?period=120&time=60m&chart=candle&chart1=ma&volume=y&rsi=y&stochastics=y&momentum=y&symbol=vrc

Select issues showed similar patterns. Definitely need confirmation. It looks like oil isn't going to be the factor this next couple of weeks but earnings and forward looking statements. HLX did a bang up job IMO. Let's see if they pop tomorrow....
