What do we think about this guy Drew Peck, he was on CNBC saying very positive things about INTC, said INTEL will lead a trading rally (what ever that is) over the next 2 months and could see a substantial increase in price. Does he have any credibility??..M

INTC rally should be brief after earnings. They are easily going to meet the estimate of.68, but that's vs. the .92 they made same quarter year ago. ASP's for PC 's continue to drop with no end in sight. ANALysts at tech conf. in California said AMAT presentation went poorly, and he predicted that AMAT would not see a turnaround until mid 1999, if that. Investors need to get it in their heads sooner or latter that a fundamental change has taken place in the sector, it should be obvious by now that this down cycle is not just a cycle, its a permenant shift to lower priced PC's and lower margins for semi, box, disk drive and other componant makers. The Nasdaq is at an all time high which is a total joke, all the large caps can thank ONE thing.......LIQUIDITY......if investing was based purely on fundamentals, INTC and others would be much lower.....INTC a good short in mid $80 range if it gets there....
