Gary, please understand this is only a 'take'...a 'quick take'. Doesn't a lot of this seem like a land rush to you? There may be gold in them thar hills but in them thar hills nearby them thar hills it may be fools gold or a really low grade of ore.

Slightly off topic, I can't believe anyone would name an online service "Snap!" or that anyone would pay so much for it. But I guess if you're gonna overpay for "Snapple" then someone has to overpay for "Snap!" and "Zap" is next in line.

I always thought Snap was a hand cleaner for oil and grease.

Although some allowances must be made for the high growth techstock fields I ultimately do support Peter Lynch when he says "avoid hot stocks in hot industries".

In this internet area the hero-to-zero-and-back-again cycle seems to
be accelerated. This time next year we could be buying NSCP for $12
and XCIT for $20. Unlikely but I do think we'll see the opposite of
today's bullish sentiment in a year or two.

The real leaders like YHOO may never look back on the other hand.
