Gloria,
The analysts have been dead wrong on the net stocks since day 1. Now they are embarassed by the huge gains missed on XCIT, AMZN, etc. and are trying to talk these stocks down. It's not going to happen. The average investor understands that there is enormous potential here that is worth staying invested for. It's all about supply and demand, and there should continue to be more demand than supply for a long time.
Regards,

Options expiration coming up and price targets have to be met...

I watched AMZN, YHOO, XCIT and LCOS today. Everything was pretty calm until the last thirty minutes when everything rocketed up. There were probably a lot of momentum players sitting on the sidelines waiting for any convincing move up to jump in. Short covering probably added 3-4 points to the rally.

I hold little credence in analysts. They're either always late to the party or they do their little upgrades and downgrades after the fact.

Be careful of being right on the internet stocks based on "valuation". Yes they're "overvalued" based upon traditional measures but keep in mind they are more concept stocks in a period I would compare to the early 80's with the PC and software companies during a sea change in technology. MSFT was, and for that matter, still is "overvalued". Just as there was the Osborne Computers of that era which crashed and burned, there will be internet failures as well. However I've concluded for the moment that: 1. these stocks cannot be successfully traded, especially on the short side (you have to be more lucky than good) and 2. they will be much higher a year from now.

Gloria, that tells you not take analysts seriously.
