With Ethernet Switches becoming as cheap as they are you should consider a switch if you can afford it.

8 10 base-t + 2 100 base tx port switches are $350
Asante has an 8 port 10/100 switch now for under $500.

you can also do as you say and buy a 10 Base-T Hub and a 100 Base-Tx hub and connect them with a two port 10/100 bridge. Some one (dlink or linksys) at compusa the other day for $120.

I think the multiport switches offer a better value for nominal price difference....
