Hi Bill and welcome.

To all E-Prime types;
START should already be a non issue as Russia has, to this date, 30 violations of the treaty. China is in another treaty (the name escapes me)and has close to the same number of violations. That is a matter of the U.S. typically having their heads in the sand. Anyway, I just spoke to Bob Davis again this morning and like what I heard. EPEA along with a few key Senators have created what Bob is calling a consortium of Senators all of whom now understand just what E-Prime has in the way of technology and launch efficiency. They are very interested in keeping as many launches in the U.S. as possible. The China issue of transferring secret technology has been the best thing to happen to E-Prime in a long time and maybe ever. This group of Senators has told Bob to go ahead and start signing contracts and that E-Prime will be out of the START soon. They also stated that if they could not get this done quickly, they would pass legislation to free E-Prime from the START. That sounds like a lengthy process, but all they need to do is tack this onto another dill to expedite. That can be accomplished in a matter of a week or two. From what I gathered, that will not be necessary. The letter of release is already written and is waiting to be signed. Mr. Davis also said he no longer plans to launch out of Vandenberg because of the expense and government red tape. Instead they will go out of Alaska. All the equipment at Vandenberg will be taken to Memphis to a refurbishing facility. I'm sure there is a lot not being shared with me, but the information he did give sounds VERY good. On one hand I feel we have never been closer, on the other, I know to be cautious because of the past. I hope this gives all of you who are so patiently waiting (like I am) some fresh air. Lets hope for the best. Like our friend Soxan has said, to keep this channel open to Bob Davis, please don't flood E-Prime with calls as we don't want a wall going down. That is all for now. Take care.
