Young companies from a new business cycle slaughtering old ones from previous times. Digital to IBM, then Compaq and PC business to Digital, etc.

There is no way for the "old" ones to survive. They just do not have intellectual genes to understand what is new. Only Bill Gates had the insight to gather all MSFT key executives in Hawaii on Pearl Harbour's day to make them understand the real Schumpeter danger coming from the Internet.

May be it will not be AMZN that will slaughter Barnes and Noble or Borders distribution and business model. But someone from the online next generation will.
