Vinman, I think your "case presentation" on Intel was pretty thin, but I do appreciate hearing the contrary viewpoint. If I had your beliefs, I'd be tempted to go short. As for myself, I have great respect for monopolies*, so I'll stay on the long side. I think Wintel is still the best way to power my portfolio.

Good luck with your investing, Frank

*I don't think AMD can afford to continue buying market share by shipping 20 cents with every dollar sale, but unless they offer a big price advantage, they will disappear from the processor arena. Who wouldn't prefer Intel Inside if the prices were comparable?

Vinman, Re: why don't you tell me from a fundamental perspective why I am wrong

From a fundamental perspective, buying INTC at 60 or 80
makes no real difference. If you short INTC at mid-80,
when would you cover the position ?

Gary

RE: "James, instead of being such an idiot and bringing up ERGO"
+++++++++++
Vinman, I never heard of ERGO until you bashed INTC, I asked you where better to put my money, you brought up ERGO so the title (idiot) must be yours.
