I suppose my point is, uranium never happened. The internet is happening and millions are using it now. Yes, I'm way too young to even have existed during the days of nuclear proliferation.

As for bio-tech, not everyone can participate in bio-tech research or dabble with it on a daily basis. Anyone can log onto the internet. When something is as easy to use as the net, people will take to it like they've taken to computers. It's the natural progression of being wired - from a closed box to an open box that can connect anywhere.
