Shawn, pretty much the same old news. 2 major criticisms I have for the article:

1). when talking about margins, the author totally ignores the cost side of the equation. I wouldn't underestimate cost saving Intel is achieving using .25m, scale efficiencies, cutbacks, etc. Yes, price is going down, but so is cost.

2). Author way-off with regards to Xeon. He says Xeon will have tough going against SUN. Huh?? Xeon is invading SUN's turf, not the other way around. From the specs I have seen so far, XEON will be a big winner, and its Sun who should be worrying.

We'll find a lot more about Intel tonight!!!

Re: Jubaks article " I run Jubak's Picks with a 12- to
18-month time horizon." >Looking out<
, >Intel still looks like dead money<
>until<
>sometime in 1999.<""

Thats a short time horizon for a stockinvestor.
Even Jeff Vinik with Fidelity couldnt predict the market.
He thinks it will go up sometimes in 1999,- When?
I dont want to be out when intel goes up.
I think his strategy is a losing one. But I could be wrong.
regards
Tobias

Shawn - Re: "Jubak - Getting Out of Intel"

He's been getting out of Intel for about 6 months now.

As a journalist, his doesn't appear to be a successful investor.

If he doesn't make a fortune in a short period of time, he ditches the stock.

There are lots of people like him - looking for stocks that only go up.
