Whoops -- I meant ENE, not NNE when I wrote:

"Montello reports,
The Legend block is approximately 50 kilometres east of the main Ashton Discovery block.
The SE corner I speak of is actually about 125km east of the Ashton discovery block, and about 170km ENE [corrected] of the actual Ashton discovery kimberlites."

Jesse - Thanks for clarifying that T means Tesla. My first thought on hearing that the Legend anomaly is 10-40 times stronger than Ashton's is that it is from something other than kimberlite. I have no technical knowledge on this, just that that is a large range to be coming from the same material, especially if all of Ashton's are in the 10-30 nT range. And we know Montello has already found magnetic sand. OTOH, I think it was you who recently pointed out (here or ACA thread) the different types and quantities of garnets that may or may not serve as indicators, so perhaps the magnetics can vary 40:1.

This would be a good fact to search your "encyclopedia" for!

Pete

Hi Jesse,

Good to hear from you !

In regards to :

<<< One of the targets shows as a magnetic high of 410 nT with
dimensions of approximately 400 metres x 400 metres.
This is a very strong anomaly. I don't know what that means,
tho. The Alberta Ashton anomalies are said to be in the
10-30nT range (nano tesla). >>>

I've heard that Ashton's K 5 ( their largest anomaly to date ?)
also has a very high magnetic (strong signature )reading. Can anyone verify this ?

Good to talk to you again Jesse. Hope we'll get some more activity
in the Alberta play soon !

Cheers,

Gord.
