Ahem, Aside from your ad hominens (you sound like twister)...
I'll take a system that can stay up for hundreds of days at a time over one that can't. Surprise, it is almost for free too.

But you see (you don't), it's not whether it's free or not, IT WORKS. IT OFFERS something microslop doesn't. get it? It's supported by people more interested in quality than dollars, and for free. Jee, can you beat this? That's what the industry needs more of.

Yes it's stable?? Like it is a small issue! Fragmented? if so, Who cares.. it does the job, doesn't crash, and running the majority of the web servers on the net. Microsoft is thriving on fragmenting the market, by implementing someone else's technology and ideas, and adding their hooks into the poor thing.. Heck, its own products can't work together correctly.

Apparently stability is not important to you since ( I assume your favorite company) microsoft doesn't care or can't have the same stability. If microsoft is your standard then you wouldn't care.

Yeah, the software industry desrves something more like microsoft, a company that doesn't care, puts out half baked apps, calls a patch upgrade an operating system and charges $90+ for it. No thank you, Peewee.

And if anyone knows about cheapskates ...

it's a trial member.

Come on Mr. Gates buck up. Borrow it from Ballmer.

In the meantime maybe the Doc will write you a prescription for some Valium.

Just giving you a hard time. Have another beer and read the LINUX thread. You might learn a lot.

Best of luck Bill.

>>The Linux community is a joke. It is promoted by cheapskates..<<

I'm not shy about spending money on software. When I roll up my Quicken charts, I find that I've spent more than $9000 in the past 2 years on personal software alone. This doesn't even include my SI membership fees (you've heard of that, haven't you? ;P )

Anyway, I use Linux both at home and work because it's stable, fast, and completely transparent (source-wise). It's a dream to program for.

>> It is really more of a cult...<<
This is not true. I know this is false because Linus came to me in a dream and told me so. Please cast aside your fears and doubts and join us... the ONE TRUE OPERATING SYSTEM. Linus loves you. Better for you to be on the side of righteousness when the Day of Redemption comes.

I must go now... the mothership awaits.

The Linux community is a joke. It is promoted by cheapskates who
don't want to pay for anything.

Why is this any different than car buffs that like their cars to RUN?

Some of us like our operating systems to OPERATE.

What is really a joke is the ignorant masses that have been trained by Microsoft to save their work every ten minutes. Never know when that "special" moment will happen.

Not everything is about money. This is why we hate Microsoft, because that is what all you slimeballs care about.

Some of us just like to do things right way. They like their cars to purrrrr.
