Hogwash. You think Fred and Steve are responsible for gathering all the numbers and entering them into the accounting system at Apple? That was my first thought too, but then I remembered that some corporations have compartalized accounting systems in which no minion has access to the global picture. In those cases only the CFO, CEO and perhaps one assistant see the combined figures. I recall reading about one such corporation a few years back that implemented the system after being badly burned on an insider leak. I have no idea if Apple has reached that state of paranoia...

Hogwash. You think Fred and Steve are responsible for gathering all the numbers and entering them into the accounting system at Apple? Hmm...sounds like someone's tone needs to come down. Who said anything about the hunters and gatherers of the data? I am talking big picture here. I am simply saying that knowing Steve, he is not allowing anyone outside of Fred to know the big picture. I think anyone else who does know has been clearly informed they are not to leak. That's what I was saying. I don't think any "true" source at Apple is going to leak that info. because so few people know it that Steve would track them down and have their heads if they told. if you think Fred and Steve are the only ones in the know, then you're very naive about how accounting works in large company Hey! How did you POSSIBLY extract my post into a personal judgement on me? I have never claimed to know much about accounting so I don't know where the heck that comment came out of, but I thought we were on the same side? Gimme a break for expressing my thoughts. -travis
