Rudedog,

I would like to believe what you have said but the stories coming out of CPQ are mere fragments and do not actually reveal whether the Subzero is even profitable at all. They are claiming that it is more profitable which means that they could be making a few bucks on them but then since they have not been profitable for the last two quarters it is easy to beat a loss with a small gain.
It would be a lot more interesting if they posted their actual margins pretax. Also, it was brought up earlier that CPQ was having these boxes made for them and therefore they only had to take orders and have them dropped shipped from a third party manufacturer. This raises the question: what do the component costs have to do with it anyway? These costs should be of more concern to the third party manufacturers.I believe it was steve who confirmed this information.

IMO, CPQ stock price is up because a high tide floats all ships except the ones that are already sunk.
I hope that their accounting will be less opaque this quarter but I fear it will raise more questions than it answers.

Anyway we do not have to wait long to find out.

The envelope please......
