Zoltan, you're just wrong about ASND. Come on over to the ASND board and learn something about the one CSCO competitor which is thriving and, thanks to Cascade, actually beating CSCO in the WAN space.

The whole point is to keep learning and sharing info, not to keep spouting dated info. I've learned a lot from certain CSCO thread members, especially Gary. djane

Ascend Beats estimates. Looks like Cisco's butt is getting whipped. And Cisco hasn't even dealt with LU and NT yet!!!

BOY. Watching Cisco tumble is going to be FUN!!

The Erik DUDE will finally have to pay the TAXMAN.

As a long on both CSCO and ASND, I'm feeling pretty satisfied that ASND's back on track. I think Mory E. took a lesson from Chamber's school of management. ASND has regained the confidence of Wall Street. I saw a reference to them as the 5th networker. I think that's a lot of bunk. Even though I profited from Synoptics(Bay Networks), 3COM, and CS in the past, I wouldn't put a penny in any of them today. Their mgmt stinks. ASND's 450% return since Jan 95 in spite of the drubbing they took during 97 isn't too bad. 100% return ytd. Don't get me wrong, I've held CSCO since Jun 93 and plan my retirement on the gains, but it's not the only stock around.
