RE: Q: Steve, WASS. Celeron had record ramp? Reconcile? Market share? Where are you losing?
A: Celeron replaces Pentium Pro. Guidance last quarter. Displacement of existing with new product. Market share? Losing, by definition, all levels.

All levels ? Doesn't sound too good.

Darren,

Many thanks for the time you spent summarizing the conference call for those of us that didn't get to hear it.

I think I got the gist of the whole thing because of your efforts.

I didn't notice any questions from the analysts regarding the StrongArm technology and the plans that Intel has for it. StrongArm was a technology that Andy Bryant specifically mentioned in his CNBC interview. Bryant said that the technology provides Intel with an entree to markets that it has no place in today.

I think that Intel's intentions and capabilities with this technology are being seriously underestimated at the moment. This is sort of getting lost in the shuffle.

Prediction:

Big bucks in the next 4Q's will come from StrongArm. Andy Bryant gave me the impression that Intel has some serious ideas about how to maximize it's potential. It was mentioned in the context of a question to him about new things on Intel's plate. He mentioned Xeon processors and then the StrongArm technology that they just acquired in the DEC deal.

JMHO.
