Valueman: The article clearly states that they are sticking with the September 23rd startup date. There has been no statements indicating otherwise. Motorola and Iridium have already overcome a number of major obstacles, including a 5 month launch delay due to a Delta II problem, without budging on there original date. You did omit the part about Iridium now being licensed in 86 countries and territories in addition to having 195 distribution partners signed up.
