Anyway, the stock repurchases by hi-tech companies are designed to rip-off investors, not to enhance value. The repurchased shares are used for stock options exercised by employees and management.

INTC stated that they purchased more shares than are necessary to supply options. This was looked at as a quiet negative, but no big deal. Again, loading bad news into 2Q.

With the stock performance over the last year, I must agree.

The company has given out $1.5 billion in options - while the stock
has languished/dropped - during the greatest bull market in history!

I hate to say this, but maybe the word "integrity" is something we
stockholders should be talking about.

I believe the CEO of Netscape is taking $1 in salary and has
voluntarily given up options on 300,000 shares.

Is this too much to expect here?

$3 billion is a lot of cash to spend in a "profitable" quarter. <g>
