It's not going to be a pretty sight. Rick Hill was on Squawk Box yesterday morning and basically painted a weak near-term picture. We could be a year out from seeing a sustained positive B2B ratio. However, he was emphatic that fabs would have to upgrade to newer technology, and I think they'll mind their expense P's and Q's until the downturn runs its cycle. I don't remember his exact quote, but it was something to the effect that "the good news is that it can't get any worse". The stock moved more to the negative news out of AMAT than it did to that interview. Actually, I believe it was up slightly after that interview.
