Thanks for the compliment, but I must admit that Bob deserves some of the credit for the move. It was his rather strong recommendation a few weeks ago to review asset allocations and rebalance as appropriate that motivated me. Mind you, Bob's recommendation was not something new or surprising to me (I always knew and believed the concept of maintaining the desired allocation). Bob's recommendation was, however, just enough to get me off of my lazy a%# and do what I should have been doing all along.

Best wishes,

I2

Good move, especially since Brinker was unable to foresee the 1987 crash and warn his readers/listeners in advance.

Agreed that Bob blew it big time along with many other fund managers in 1987 (According to Hilbert Financial Digest Brinker got out near the bottom in '87 and didn't convert to a roaring bull until 1990 if my memory serves me right.) My 33% loss in my single 401K fund was reason for me to learn investing as I decided I couldn't trust fund managers to get it right.

Anyway, "the crash of '87" is really not a good term as the market was actually up that year so the buy and holders did fine. Knowing you read alot of literature, do know what Rukeyser did in 1987? He claims to be bullish for decades in his literature. I'm curious if he held thru the "Correction of 1987".
