FIELD ACTIVITIES / Nycan Energy Corp. Doubles Production NYCAN ENERGY CORP. DOUBLES PRODUCTION FOLLOWING TURIN EAST BATTERY START UP Date: 7/14/98 9:02:31 AM Stock Symbol: NYE Nycan Energy Corp. today announced the completion and start up of the central battery, salt water disposal facility and gas compressor at Turin East. Nycan owns a 42.5% working interest in this facility to which eight oil wells and two natural gas wells are currently connected. As a result, production net to Nycan from Turin East is now 220 barrels of oil per day and 1.1 million cubic feet of natural gas per day. This production, along with Nycan's existing production from other areas, brings the Company's total to approximately 400 barrels of oil per day and 2 million cubic feet of natural gas per day, resulting in an increase of over 100% to 600 barrels of oil equivalent per day. Nycan also reported that it has commenced a new 3-D seismic program on adjacent Turin East lands. Three wells are scheduled to be drilled at Turin East in August, 1998 and successful wells will be connected to the Turin East facility.
