I only read first sentence of article that was posted at the URL. I stopped because I remembered that Europe's economic is suppose to be on the rebound. Will Europe's rebound help the US?

US tech equipment cost more money than most Europeans can afford. Not only has our strong dollar made it more difficult for Europeans to buy our products, but the European governments impose horrible excise taxes on imports, like computers, for instance.

Another question that comes to mind is that our "unparalleled American prosperity" has only been of benefit to the fortunate few that have the education and/or have invested in the American stock market over the past 15 years.

Last Friday night, NBC news pointed out that 1 in 4 or it might have been l in 5 American children live in poverty. The number of US children that live in poverty is the highest number in the West.

Of course, our stock market is not about to tumble because of this disparity in wealth among families in the US. However, when I think about the future, I worry!!!

The portion of the article that you have printed here is interesting. I wish I knew more. I do not have the knowledge to agree or disagree with author's assessment of the Asian disaster.
