Phil, Mac has no money and will get less and less for the asset as time goes by(unless gold rockets). Both MGR and MAC have seen their asset decrease to less than what they paid for it and there is nothing that can be done about that fact. The mine can operate if startup capital is given. MGR cannot/willnot provide that capital as it preserves the MAC fiction that it can get a free ride and the increase in gold and MGRs work will rescue it in the end.
I have no doubt MGR could raise the capital to operate the mine it it owned 100% as it would be able to operate optimally and this would make the raising doable. With a deadwood like MAC why should MGR do anything? If it waits eventually it will run out of guard money and the place will be abandoned and all assets carted off by thieves for scrap metal. MAC also knows this and must show others that the asset is worth buying even though they will have to add operating capital as well as the money the pay MAC to get it. This means MAC will get only very lean offers, but better than zero offers which it will get if it waits too long.
