SCO'S Unixware 7 Powers End-To-End E-Commerce System

SCO Reseller Taps Enterprise Capabilities of UnixWare 7 to Host Online Business Solution for Premium Cigar Company

SANTA CRUZ, Calif., July 13 /PRNewswire/ -- SCO (Nasdaq: SCOC) today announced its award-winning UnixWare 7
operating system is powering a new, comprehensive e-commerce solution for the Snake River Cigar Company.

This unique business solution combines the technologies of SCO and paymentNET, with application development, hosting and
deployment by Commercial Open Systems, Inc. (cosimo.net), an SCO Authorized Reseller. The site is being promoted online
at broadcast.com, the world's largest online broadcaster and one of the top ten most visited sites on the Internet.

"When we set out to develop the site infrastructure for Snake River, we knew we needed a scalable and rock-solid foundation
because their business would depend on it," said Scott Medlock, chief operating officer at cosimo.net. "UnixWare 7 exceeded
our requirements with the power necessary to handle the transaction-intense, high-volume traffic that broadcast.com can
deliver. Thanks to paymentNET's porting of its credit card processing application to UnixWare we were able to meet Snake
River's demands."

The UnixWare 7 powered system offers incredible value to the consumer by providing real-time order processing and pricing.
The system instantly queries vendor pricing, passing on the best price available, at that moment, to the consumer. Credit card
approvals are handled in seconds and orders are shipped directly from Snake River's enormous inventory. The system also
interacts with Snake River's shippers and its accounting system to manage the company's daily operations.

"We are beginning to see vendors tap the true strength and versatility of UnixWare 7," said Ron Rasmussen, SCO's vice
president, Volume Systems Group. "The solution cosimo.net designed for Snake River is a prime example of a system taking
advantage of the network computing attributes of UnixWare 7. Now that cosimo.net has converted all of its hosting servers to
SCO we hope to see more e-business solutions on UnixWare 7."

The site goes live today on broadcast.com, formerly Audionet. See cosimo.com and paymentnet.com
for more information on cosimo.net and paymentNET, respectively.
