X, I was not seriously saying that environmentalism is a real religion. In that post I pointed out to Michael, in fact, that it was based on science, and religions are not. I was simply likening it to doing good rather than bad, which is a religious concept, at least for truly devout people.

So, for the record, I do not believe environmentalism is a religion. Obviously, it is followed by people who love the earth, and therefore has some positive spirituality attached to it, however.

Isn't it funny that the devout Christians don't ever seem to think about the environment enough to write about it here? I would think that since God created the earth, and not that many thousands of years ago, either, according to Bible literalists, they would be fervid environmentalists!!!
