RE: COM is a massive canyon of complexity coupled with an ant hill of functionality. COM is like a some throw-away high-school computer science project gone awry and given a failing grade.

Well, I was beginning to worry that you were getting mellow in your old age Rod. Glad to see that you still get red-faced when you speak of COM. We have been using com for over a year, and all of the engineers on my team are happy. We have COM servers, Services, and drop in objects. They are very reusable, and they move from stand-alone to distributed very easily. We have gone from zero to beta on a very complex client-server product in less than a year, and we have nailed two major OEM's (both among the world's largest PBX vendor's). One of them liked our product so much they forked out $25M for the company.

But these are all side issues. I am optimistic because BORL typically goes up when you are on your bash com bandwagon. S0, I expect good news next week, followed by a nice jump. Hope you're in.
