IMMHO, I think that the overall momentum will carry CPQ to higher valuations. Most, if not all of the bad news (stuffing channels, controversy over DEC)is all behind us. My feeling is that while there appears to have been some profit taking in the last hour or so, the overall sentiment appears positive as reflected by the sharp increase in volume and overall positive momentum. Don't forget that cpq has alta vista, Alpha, and a great service infra-structure.

But then again, what the hell do I know.

Best of luck to all of us "long-fellows"

Regards,

David

Luc,

I think there is no question, that without a good forward looking statement in the CC, this stock will fall, even with good numbers for last quarter. I have seen this time & time again.

We need to place much more weight on "Forward Looking" than "Current Earnings."

I must say, though, that the "air" has positive feel to it! I've been holding the Jan00 30 LEAPS for some time, so I am feeling quite good right now.

Best of luck to us ALL in the morning!! See you @ 40 by 8/31/98!

Bill
