I think a survey of leading industry mavens, asking the question:

"What is knowledge management?"

Would return a whole mixture of answers, most of them wrong. My favourite incorrect response is an ad by Bell & Howell recently. Paraphrased, it went like this:

(First page)

Who is the ONE name you need to know for Knowledge Management?

(Second page)

Bell & Howell.

I laughed and laughed.

TelTech's possible fence sitting may be even more interesting!

Cambridge, Mass./Minneapolis, Minn., June 8, 1998 - Dataware Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:DWTI), and Teltech Resource Network Corporation today announced a strategic alliance designed to deliver complete knowledge management solutions.

Cut from news at dataware.com (follow press room link for full story)

This whole game is more convoluted than the old Bronfman Empires. No wonder analysts are getting disillusioned. I guess DOCS (Fulcrum) and DataWare are in different market segments?

Digging, digging, digging. nf
