TT,
RE: "On top of that, the CFO of Intel, Andy Bryant (spelling) said
Celeron has been very successful. The transition from P5 to P6
system is executing very smoothly"
But how successful do you want the Celeron to be? The Mendocino?
What happens if the mendocino becomes Intels dominant chip over the Pentium II? This is an eery thought...as the consumer wants lower prices.
Jim

Time Traveller:

Did you hear that Intel is losing market share? That is not a good sign. Ramping up on Celeron? Is this mean PII is not selling as well as Celeron? I remembered last Q1 conference Barnett said Q3 revenue will be flat or higher and margin is in the 50ish percent. Well Q2 revenue is not flat. It is down. Margin is not 50ish % . It is 48.9%. He said the same thing today that Q3 revenue is flat or slightly higher and margin is 52%+/- 2%. So far he is wrong once and right none. Anyway, if you want to buy my shares you better get really early tomorrow because I will sell my INTC at the market 7:31 Eastern time sharp.
