I'm listening to the Intel corp. conference call about earnings; talk about increased competition and contracting margins! And they have a near monopoly on processors and a vast number of patents, facilities and other barriers to market entry. Amazonianuts.com has no such proprietary market or technological advantage. They saw market demand in units down about 5% and profits down over 30%. Asia was flat, and therefore, not the root of the problem. The low-end of the market increased in percentage of overall sales to over 50%. Guess what Amazonianuts, people do buy comparable products based on price regardless of how engrained the corporate log is - high margins won't survive in the "new world of the internet", increased competition and information access.
