Paul et al - Charting helps if you make the charts talk !! I thought it better to wait for the earnings news to come out before responding to the cliche that charting helps to predict the past !! The art of charting is to use the past to predict, with some level of accuracy,the tops and bottoms of future runs. The Intel chart I put up gave the signals on the days shown and not retrospectively - the signals predicted the probable future direction , and by and large were correct.
Perhaps you and some of the thread would take the time to check the following out and let me know if you still feel that the signals would not be of any use. Keep in mind they come up at the end of the day and are not generated backwards.

IBM, NIKE Amazon, Newbridge

As regards Intel, there is no sell signal yet. I agree with VG - protect some profits, but the run is not over.
