Marketing, Distribution, and Support Agreements Reached. Significant Purchase Order Included.
FAIRFAX, Va., July 15 /PRNewswire/ -- XYBERNAUT CORPORATION (Nasdaq: XYBR), a leader in wearable computers and U.S. Computer Group (USCG), a subsidiary of Tech Electro Industries Inc. (Nasdaq: TELE), today announced a strategic purchasing, sales, support, and marketing agreement. "Combining the strength of Xybernaut's wearable PC platform, Voice User Interface(TM) knowledge, and software toolkits for rapid application development, with USCG's experience in field service applications and computer components should provide for significant deployment opportunities in field service environments" according to David Schweppe, Xybernaut's Vice President of Marketing.
U.S. Computer Group is a complete systems and solutions provider serving the New York-Philadelphia corridor. USCG has been featured on INC. Magazine's listing of the nation's "Top 500 Fastest Growing Privately-Held Companies" for five consecutive years. Sales growth was seventy six percent last year.
Steven Davis, President and CEO of USCG, stated: "Not only are we committed to using Xybernaut's products for our own operations, but we are in a position to show their advantages to our customers -- Fortune 200 companies which are a natural market for the wearable platform."
Edward G. Newman, Xybernaut Corporation's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer stated "We are continuing our plan to develop strategic relationships with strong sales, marketing, distribution, and support organizations such as USCG. Their decision to deploy our current product line in the field, as well as to secure early commitments for our new MA IV series, demonstrate the vision that has catapulted their sales growth in the last five years. We expect the Mobile Assistant(TM) to become the computer the computer experts use to fix computers."
Mr. Schweppe added: "Our agreement with U.S. Computer Group is part of our strategic plan for introducing our Mobile Assistant(TM) line of wearable computers to a variety of application-specific environments. Field service, whether it is for computers, factory machinery, or fixed field assets, represents a compelling opportunity for savings. The savings are gained both in reduced cost to service the equipment, and increased quality of repair and maintenance through better access to logistical and technical information needed for the task. We are extremely pleased to have USCG help demonstrate these high pay off applications by deploying Mobile Assistants(TM) in its own and its customers' operations."
While both companies declined to go into more detail, Steven A. Newman, Xybernaut's Vice Chairman stated, "USCG joins a growing list of knowledgeable, high quality company's that are choosing to gain immediate benefit by use of our Mobile Assistant P133 while simultaneously committing to the MA IV." He went on to characterize the initial purchase order as significant.
