I may be mistaken, but I thought the last time MRK split was at 150-180 (pre-1992) and it went 3:1 taking it down to 50-60. Then Clinton and his health care gurus proceeded to knock it down to about 27 (where I initially purchased it) with their health care reform plans.

they can always ask shareholders to authorize to increase share numbers.

many are speculate DELL will do exactly that come 07/17 shareholders meeting.

According to Merck the last split was 3:1 and occured in 1992. They do not have the month and date on this site for their splits.
