"Emile Is it just coincidence or intention that causes you to post in an inflamatory manner" What is it you find inflammatory? That I correct the distorted and false image of a holy Christian saint who gave his life rather than renounce his faith in Christ? Or was it because I reprimanded Alan Markoff's false and disparaging testimony against the early Christian Church and several Christian saints by name--St. Justin Martyr in particular? If these Christian saints were willing to give their lives to uphold the truths of the Gospel, I think we should uphold their holy deeds and names when they are reviled and distorted by either false or confused brethren in the twentieth century.

"attempts at peace and reconcilliation " Mark, The peace and reconciliation you seek is the peace and reconciliation of the world. This is not the peace and reconciliation of Jesus and the Apostles. Jesus did not come to bring worldly peace but a dividing sword. Jesus brought discord and disharmony to the false social and religious authorities. He was Crucified for creating discord and disharmony among the false religious and political philosophies his day. The Apostles also were killed for destroying the worldly peace and false reconciliation of their day by preaching true peace and reconciliation of God found ONlY in Jesus Christ. The peace and reconciliation of God is opposed to the false peace and reconciliation of this world.. The peace and reconcilaition of Jesus destroys the peace and reconciliation of this world. This is what is making you so uncomfortable. It breaks the fallow ground and prepares the hearts of men for the seeds of the Gospel. What is the peace and reconciliation of God? Jesus Christ the Son of God was Crucified and raised from the dead to destroy the darkness of sin within human hearts. When men accept Jesus as the sacrifice for their sins, they are released from the darkness and chaos of their sins and find peace and then are reconciled to God. That is the peace and reconciliation of God. What is the peace and reconciliation that you speak of? The peace and reconciliation you speak of is a temporrary social agreement that stops hones discussion among men and replaces honest discussion with hypocritical platitudes and niceties that keep men from truth. Jesus says it best: John 14 27: Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. Matt. 10 34: Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. 35: For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. 36: And a man's foes shall be they of his own household. Neither Jesus nor his Aposlles and disciples ever found worldly peace and reconciliation. The peace of God is a profound joy and peace in the heart that cannot be destroyed by the hate and chaos of the world. The peace and reconciliation that you speak of is of the world and comes and goes as with social circumstances and the emotions of men. Mark, seek you the peace of God that abides forever. That peace can only be found in Jesus Christ---the most Jewish of all Jewish men.

"Would Jesus be prouder of an attempt to win an argument, or an attempt to create a peaceful and trusting environment out of a contentious and distrustfull one? Which is god's work?" Jesus wanted nothing to do with the false kind of peaceful an trusting environment your are proposing! The environment you seek is an environment that would permit spiritually dead men like yourself to live in a "worldly peaceful" environment that never challenges them with the hard reality of their sins and their dark destiny. The peaceful environment you seek is an environment that is "lukewarm" and puts dead men to sleep. Your words are "sweet" and syrupy, but they are deadly wrong. You are dead in your sins and you refuse to seek the Lord with all your heart and mind. God tells us that whoever seeks him with all their heart and mind finds him. You do not find him because you are not sincerely seeking. You have establish a smug attitude and a worldly form academic serenitity that makes you feel that you are on the moral high ground but in fact you are wallowing in the lowest miry sewer of pride.
