5) They were lined up to get the other promotions the big computer chains coupled to the release event (e.g. cheap computer hardware, door prizes, etc.).

A half million copies sounds like a lot, but not as a percentage of PC's "out there."

Yes, and they're hoping those fixes wouldn't introduce new problems. Those insane people are idiots, mind you, becuase there is a service pack already out to fix those problems in win98. Go figure.

Win98 is simply a service pack. And that's simply my opinion.
