Clinton and Vice President Al Gore spoke about the challenges the Y2K problem poses to businesses at the National Academy of Sciences in Washington, D.C. The president said the government is looking for retirees with experience and knowledge of older computer systems to come out of retirement to help take on the millennium bug. The problem stems from computer systems and billions of embedded chips that will read the "00" in a two-digit year field as 1900 rather than 2000, which could cause glitches and shutdowns -- crippling businesses, power generators, transportation, communications, and hospitals, among other services.

Later this month, the president's council on the Y2K problem will start a campaign to promote partnerships between industry and government agencies.

David, I was glad to see you say that was your last post to Bullwax. I can understand well-intended TAVA shareholders' wanting to defend the stock, but responses to this idiot just feed his ego.
