I used a putter for 10 years, even after I went out and bought an Odessey. About 2 years after I then switched permanently to the Odessey. So I'm not much on switching putters around. I have a friend of 30 years who has been using the same blade putter he bought when he started over 20 years ago. Works darn good, too.

I have not seen the ad; is it the Teardrop? There is an SI thread somewhere.

I have been encouraged by everyone from my son to some scratch (and better) players I know to get a long putter because of my back (sharp pains over putts, occasionally). They work well; but I am not ready for the weird look.

I imagine if I ever switch then there is where I have to go. Hopefully I won't do what a saw a nimrod do yesterday. After his umpteenth failure to break 80 he snapped the sucker right in half. When I cracked up about it he was not too pleased. Of course, I have shot in the 70s before so I cannot feel his "pain".
