Dave, I have yet to actually watch a resistive manget get installed. I talked to a Toshiba guy the other day who had some fascinating things to say. The OPART was originally designed to do 0.6T but I think something broke so they operate at 0.35T. He said the installation of the old Fonars was honerous because something about it being put together by BRICKS. This made removing it or moving it impossible. I obviously don't know the facts but this was his recollection. I commented that the Quad is installed in 4 pieces so Fonar may well have overcome that snafu. As for gradients, the bigger the better for thinner slices, shorter TE (like gold in the industry), and faster scans. 10mT gradient strengths are used on the Quad is not bad; stronger would be impressive. Maybe that is one of the "improvements". Hey what about that stock price, eh? Hello, PR? Another PR please....
