r,

I agree with you TOTALLY on the Tandem computer complex. We (GTE) used a Tandem NonStop II complex with a bevy of 'mirrored' 300M removable cartridges (14" in diameter?). Most impressive to come in and see the techs working on a 'drive' or 'frontend' with no effect on the data processing capability!

Tandem is certainly a 'jewel' and possibly CPQ can get it together, however, the new servers (8X) in a 'complex' with the upcoming 'mass storage' complexes in the works just might give it a run for the money. Of course there are still bugs to be worked out, but you heard it here first!

Regards,

Ken
