Michael, I think Gehl's management has become a little less conservative in recent years as evidenced by the acquisition of Mustang (especially since it was basically financed with debt) and comments I think I've read about possible other acquisitions.

Unfortunately I think you are right about small caps and liquidity. Why invest in small companies when the large caps are flying. I guess I'm just a frustrated contrarian waiting for the tide to turn .

Speaking of beaten up undervalued small cap stocks with conservative managements, you might want to take a look at COHU. They manufacture semiconductor test handling equipment. I think their management is probably the most conservative I've ever seen....but in a highly cyclical industry they have managed to pay quarterly dividends every year since 1977! Good luck.
