The book puts the semiconductor field outside of its target terrain.
Not because there are no potential gorillas, but "to play the game in the semiconductor sector demands a highly specialized investor with highly specialized information." P. 122-3.

I agree with others here, you need to get the book and read it. For an investing book it is unusually easy reading.

But to answer your question, look for proprietary technology, high switching costs, tornado market conditions, and monopoly power. Haven't looked into NMGC
