You are looking at BPI as an static molecule and working alone in the body. You are missing that BPI is one of the body systems to irradicate endotoxin, for example Xoma also is workin in LBP, binds LPS but does not regulate inflamation positively as BPI does. Antibodies are another way of the body for stopping LPSs and Xoma has E5 a monoclonal antibody against LPSs that works, but the FDA is still asking for more proofs. The natural antibodies in the body do not need FDA approval, the body makes them and they work better in combination with BPI. Also the white cells and machrophage comes into play or should I say fight. Tharos is very good providing information, and very tolerant. Maybe he was just being funny (my view.)

Thank you for your most gracious response. 1. I don't buy for a minute that you are ignorant. 2. How should I take a side-by-side minutia analysis of two posts that said the same thing but in a different mannor, that were twisted in an attempt to show inconsistancy? 3. My post and RobertK's post after that show the lunacy of having to break every sentance into carefully guarded detail and/or ambiguity. 4. This thread does assume you are willing to some basic research on Xoma and its products. You can start at: xoma.com 5. As this link and other links discussing the construction, use, and application of BPI have shown up in recent previous posts, I challenge your claim that you read them Still waiting for that breakdown on gram-negative bacteria. It would add so much to the conversation for the thread to be able to reference a well laid out description against BPI's percieved capabilities.
