acidman, I like your logic - the mutual funds represent the big trades, all big trades are down - therefore funds are getting out

another perspective is that the funds are very coy - they make a business of buying & selling etc ... that they buy their allotments picking off 1,000 and 2,000 buys - to minimize their cost.

And that it is only people like my father - sitting in front of CNBC calling T.Rowe Price placing market orders through touch-tone phone for 10,000 shares etc ... that represent the big sell orders.

If this is the case, then your logic would be the other way around ...

So were the top ten transactions at the current bid or ask? Seems you would need to know that to estimate whether they were buys or sells. Thanks for your info.... -Neal
